The museum founders Reinhard and Sonja Ernst have been honoured with the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany for their services to education, art and culture and the protection of historical monuments. Hessian Minister President Boris Rhein presented the order during the opening gala at the Museum Reinhard Ernst in Wiesbaden.
